“The knife that saved my life!”

Has your Swiss Army Knife ever rescued you from a tricky or dangerous situation? Have you ever said “Thank goodness I had my knife with me”?
Why not share with us any amazing experiences you have had: simply send us your account of what happened, including a photograph if you wish.

The most unusual stories and photographs will be shown in the exhibition “The Swiss Army Knife – Cult Object”.

All entrants will receive free admission to the exhibition. Entries should be submitted by post.

Conditions of entry

Texts must be no longer than 2,000 characters.
Minimum size for photographs: 2400 x 1600 pixels
Format: JPG
Please include your first and last names and your address

Photographs and texts must be claimed by their senders; the museum will not return them otherwise. Only photos and texts that meet the above conditions may be displayed. The museum reserves the right to correct spelling mistakes in texts. No correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

By accepting these conditions, entrants confirm that the photographic and written material submitted does not infringe the rights of third parties (in particular intellectual property and personality rights). If any material infringes the rights of third parties and thereby causes loss or damage to the Swiss National Museums, Victorinox, any of these may assert a claim for damages.

Entrants hereby agree to grant the Swiss National Museum – Château de Prangins the right to use the material submitted, solely within the context of the exhibition “The Swiss Army Knife – An Icon” (20 November 2009 – 25 April 2010), provided that the name of the author and/or photographer is cited. The Swiss National Museum – Château de Prangins will therefore be granted the right to dispose freely of the texts and photographs submitted by all competition entrants without further remuneration.
